  • Custom Plano-Concave Lenses
  • Plano-Concave Lenses have edges that are thicker than the center and flat on one side. Plano-concave lenses are used to expand a light beam or increase the focal length in an optical system. They are commonly used for beam expansion of high peak power pulsed lasers. The beam incident on the concave surface will be focused to a point outside the instrument.

Unwanted air heating and ionization at the focal point may accompany mode disruption or material damage. To avoid this problem, the input lens should be inverted so that the concave surface is not facing the parallel beam.

  • Plano-Convex Lenses, Plano Convex Lenses
  • Plano-convex lenses are positive focal length elements with one spherical surface and one flat surface. These lenses are designed for infinite conjugate (parallel light) use or simple imaging in non-critical applications. These optics are ideal for general purpose focusing elements.

Our lenses are ideal for a variety of applications, from industrial, robotics, pharmaceutical to defense.

Esco manufactures plano-convex lenses using S1-UV grade fused silica, G1 fused silica, commercial grade and BK7 optical glass. Each optic is pitch polished to provide good surface quality and excellent low-cost imaging performance for a wide range of light sources.

When plano convex lenses are used for laser cutting, they are best suited for high-turnover cutting applications and when cutting thick materials. In these cases, the plano-convex lens provides a larger cut width, which allows the laser's oxygen-assisted access to cut and aid in the cut. Plano convex lenses also provide greater depth of field, which helps create tapered edges.

  • Bi-Convex Lenses
  • The biconvex lens is a convergent lens with two outwardly curved surfaces, which are symmetrical. Its radius of curvature is equal. The spherical aberration, coma and distortion of biconvex lenses reach the minimum. In addition to controlling laser beams in lasers, biconvex lenses are also used for optical imaging systems or other optical instruments.

    N-BK7 Bi-Convex Lenses

N-BK7 (Equivalent Material CDGM H-K9L) is crown glass with a transmission range of visible light and near-infrared spectrum (350nm-2000nm). N-BK7 possesses excellent optical, mechanical and chemical properties and is cost-effective. N-BK7 double convex lenses are often used in various optical imaging systems.

    Fused Silica Bi-Convex Lenses

Between 185-2500nm, fused silica biconvex lenses have good transmittance. Fused silica has stable chemical properties, high-temperature resistance, low laser damage threshold. It is suitable for laser optical systems.

    Silicon Bi-Convex Lenses

Silicon has metallic luster and is blocked in the visible light band. It has good transmittance in the infrared band (3-5μm). As a commonly used infrared optical material, silicon has high refractive index and small dispersion. Silicon lenses are widely used in infrared missile optical systems.

  • Custom Domes
  • RZ Optics Co., Ltd. provides custom optical domes that meet applications of customers. Our company produces optical domes made of optical glass, quartz glass, sapphire and silicon. Our company specializes in processing optical domes for deep-sea exploration, underwater exploration and meteorological exploration. Optical domes produced by our company are used as a window for underwater cameras and underwater robots. They are resistant to seawater corrosion and high pressure. They are also used for meteorological pyrgeometers as protective covers.

RZ Optics Co., Ltd. provides optical glass domes with commercial quality and high precision quality, including N-BK7 domes, Fused Silica domes, Sapphire domes and Silicon domes. The diameter of custom optical glass domes can be 15-280mm. The highest accuracy of concentricity can be less than 0.02mm. The highest accuracy of surface quality can be 40-20.

How can you get custom optical domes?

Please send us design drawings or custom parameters, including diameter, optical material and surface quality. Don't forget to add the requirement of quantities and lead time. Of course, the simplest way is direct to contact us for more information.

    N-BK7 Domes

N-BK7 has good transmittance (400nm-1550nm) in the visible and near-infrared spectrum. N-BK7 is a common optical material with low cost and high performance. The refractive index is highly consistent. There are fewer bubbles and streaks in N-BK7. N-BK7 domes are used for solar pyrgeometers to protect the detector from rain and snow. Besides, they prevent harsh environments from affecting the sensitivity of the detector.

    Fused Silica Domes

Fused silica is often used in the ultraviolet spectrum, between 185-2500nm, with good transmittance. Fused silica has high chemical purity, corrosion resistance and high mechanical properties. It withstands temperature changes. It is not easy to deliquesce. Fused silica domes are used as a protective cover for underwater detectors and underwater robots to protect their optical imaging systems. In addition, high-precision optical domes hardly affect the imaging effect of underwater detection equipment.

    Sapphire Domes

Sapphire is a stable infrared material, anti-corrosion and anti-deliquesce. Under the same thickness, the performance of sapphire is better than optical glass and quartz glass, but the price is slightly more expensive. Sapphire domes are often used as a protective cover for deep-sea optical imaging systems and guided missiles due to its stable chemical properties, strong pressure resistance and better capabilities of transmission.
