Surface Preparation for Application of Devcon Flexane 80 Putty :
For METAL SURFACES, thoroughly clean area to be repaired, rebuilt, or lined with Devcon Cleaner Blend 300. Remove any oil, grease, or dirt. Roughen surface by grinding with a coarse wheel or an abrasive disc pad. To prime this surface, apply a coat of Devcon FL-10 Primer and allow to dry tack-free for 15 minutes. If the metal surface requires maximum tear resistance or is exposed to moisture, or if submerged in water, use Devcon® FL-10 and Devcon FL-20 Primer.
For RUBBER SURFACES, thoroughly clean area with an abrasive pad and Devcon Cleaner Blend 300. Surface can also be roughened with a grinding wheel so that it is coarse and free from oil and dirt that may clog the "pores" of the rubber. Wipe or roughen surface with Cleaner Blend 300 until the cloth no longer picks up the color of the rubber. The rubber should appear new or deeper in color. To prime this surface, apply a coat of Devcon® FL-20 Primer and allow to dry tackfree for 15-20 minutes. Use Devcon®FL-40 Primer on "hard-to-bond" rubber surfaces as this gives ultimate peelresistance. Multiple coats may be necessary for porous rubber surfaces.For MAXIMUM ADHESION, sandblast the surface with an angular abrasive until a minimum depth profile of 2-3 mils is met. Blast to near-white finish specification SSPC-SP5 (Steel Structure Painting Council). Prime surface immediately after sandblasting to prevent oxidation.

Surface Preparation : 1. Thoroughly clean the surface with Devcon® Cleaner Blend 300 to remove all oil, grease and dirt.
2. Grit blast surface area with 8-40 mesh grit, or grind with a coarse wheel or abrasive disc pad, to create increased surface area for better adhesion (Caution: An abrasive disc pad can only be used provided white metal is revealed).
Desired profile is 3-5 mil, including defined edges (do not "feather-edge” epoxy).
Note: For metals exposed to sea water or other salt solution, grit-blast and high-pressure-water-blast the area, then leave overnight to allow any salts in the metal to “sweat” to the surface. Repeat blasting to “sweat out” all soluble salts. Perform
chloride contamination test to determine soluble salt content (should be no more than 40ppm).
3. Clean surface again with Devcon Cleaner Blend 300 to remove all traces of oil, grease, dust or other foreign substances from the grit blasting.
4. Repair surface as soon as possible to eliminate any changes or surface contaminants.

Mixing : Bronze Putty is formulated to be a dense mix that can be applied easily to overhead and
vertical surfaces without running or sagging. Add the hardener to the resin and mix thoroughly
on a mixing board using a spatula. Do not mix in the containers.
Application : For best results, product should be kept and applied at room temperature. Bronze Putty can be applied when temperatures are between 13 degrees centigrade and 52 degrees centigrade. Spread Bronze Putty over prepared surface with a putty knife. Press firmly to ensure maximum surface contact and avoid trapping air. To bridge large gaps or holes use fibre glass, sheet metal or wire mesh.

HOW TO USE:
How to apply Molykote 111 Compound can be applied by hand, specially designed automated equipment brushing or wiping. Certain designs of grease guns may seize up; test prior to use. A thinner consistency can be achieved by dispersing in solvents such as xylene, mineral spirits and methyl ethyl ketone. Molykote 111 Compound can then be applied by brushing, dipping or spraying. Molykote 111 Compound should not be applied to any surface which will be painted or finished. Such coatings may not adhere to the silicone-treated surface. If contaminated by a silicone coating, parts can be wiped or washed with solvent, washed with detergent, or immersed in an alcoholic potassium hydroxide solution and then rinsed in clear water before painting.
Chemical resistance:
Molykote 111 Compound is not greatly affected by mineral oils, vegetable oils or air. It is generally resistant to dilute acids and alkalines and to most aqueous solutions. Because each application may vary in chemical composition, pressure, flow velocity, re-lubrication requirements and equipment design, it is recommended that the silicone compound be tested before adopting for regular use. Molykote 111 Compound is not to be used with liquid oxygen and should not be used in applications requiring LOX compatibility.

How to apply Molykote P 37
Clean the thread with solvent. Clean already used bolts with a wire brush. Spread an adequate amount of this product up to the root of the thread in order to obtain a good seal. For this purpose use the brush from the brush can, provided it has not been used previously for other purposes. Otherwise use a new brush .
